Frinsa’s main objective is to produce high-quality products, focusing our efforts on meeting our customers’ expectations in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way.
To achieve this, we have developed a code of conduct for suppliers based on the 10 principles of the United Nations Global Compact and the Conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO). Based on these, our suppliers must commit themselves to meet minimum requirements in terms of workers’ rights, environmental respect and business ethics.
To achieve this essential goal, the company is immersed in a process of continuous improvement that is the cornerstone for achieving the highest degree of quality and environmental friendliness.
Thanks to the thorough traceability of all our raw materials, we can guarantee that we only use species and specimens whose sustainability is assured and which come from respectful and sustainable areas and fishing gear.
On the other hand, we have a large quality control team, both human and technological, which provides all the necessary means to guarantee the maximum quality and safety of our canned foods.
Thanks to all the resources we have devoted to continuous improvement, we have been awarded and retained the most important certifications in terms of quality, food safety and sustainability of fishery resources. Some of these are the British Retail Consortium and the ISO 14001:2015 environmental certifications.
Our reason to be is meeting our clients’ expectations. This has allowed us to meet their needs and achieve the highest levels of quality and satisfaction. However, we are aware that the cycle of continuous improvement must continue, and that is why we will continue to work to meet the expectations of all those consumers who have placed their trust in our products.
Declaring our ethical commitment would not be enough in itself if we did not take concrete steps to ensure that what we have vouched for is being complied with by our suppliers.
This, combined with our conviction that ethical objectives are achieved through the combined efforts and flow of information throughout the value chain, is why Frinsa is a member of the non-profit association Sedex (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange).
Our Sedex membership allows us to use their self-assessment tool together with our suppliers, who are required to complete a self-assessment questionnaire regularly. The information gathered from this questionnaire is used to assess the need for improvement in terms of ethics and social commitment.
The Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit (SMETA) procedure is used by thousands of companies to assess their suppliers through a wide range of indicators relating to workers’ rights, health and safety, the environment and business ethics. We also undergo regular audits to assess our ethical performance.
Our system ensures that any geographical location where it is suspected that worker’s rights are being infringed in any way, and which may impact the social or natural environment in which they work, is ruled out.
